Holy Crap!!! Surprise ownage in the Underworld!!!
I'm level 17 e/n with nothing in necro... unfortunately I got no pics cuz I'm in a pc cafe and the drive with the game installed is locked to users.
I went to temple of ages so I could find the Black Curtain and the Wizard's Tower. I had heard you can get to the underworld but I thought it was statues in a specific location that got you there and so assumed that each of the statues in the ToA gave you some reward for your tribute. I hawked a load (a load!!) of materials to get 1 plat and gave tribute to Grenth... alone... no henchies... and then went to the underworld. whoa!!!
The place looks cool, I eavesdropped on a couple ghosts for a moment (missed the opening, but I'll make the first line up:
-"I hate being a ghost"
-"yeah, I know what you mean."
-"I just wish for once that someone could see the real me."
-"I see you Anson."
-"Thanks..."
lol
I went to talk to a lost spirit, read his quest, and had only just clicked accept when I saw something... nightstalker? demon? I don't know... but it owned me in one hit... It was level 29
I then got transported back to the Temple of Ages... sigh... 1 plat for about 45 seconds worth of view then ownage.... Next time I'll know better and bring others with me, but i didn't know it was so accessible. Any statue will do when you have favor.
craziness!

In the future, never talk to anyone in the Underworld. Each quest spawns in a bunch of guys, and all of them are big and nasty. Your goal there should be to explore, not to run quests unless your group specifically says otherwise.

Heheh, until you're lv 20 and have the best armor you have no business in UW. But I do think it's good to experience that kind of total ass-whoopin at least once. Builds character.

Yeah first time I was going to do underworld I had tried to take hench when there was all alone. Only thing I thought was oh well can't be that hard here. Walk up to the quest guy thinking I would just get some easy quest 5 seconds later im dead below a dog pile of monster hitting me for 100+ each.

Ouch... sorry to hear that. Still, you got to check out probably one of the toughest areas in the game.

Yeah, you definitely need a protection monk and a healer monk, and some coordinated tanks that know how to draw aggro. From there it's clear sailing. They take down casters in about 2 hits, would do similar to a tank if they didn't have protective spirit on them all the time.
My own experience in UW Lasted pretty far, up until the point where someone accidentally grabbed the wrong quest, and about a dozen ghosts we had to protect showed up, got killed, and we got booted out of UW
